Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with American Jewish organizations in New York on Friday, in the context of his participation in the 78th UN General Assembly meeting this week.
The Greek premier met with the leaderships of both the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
According to government sources, Mitsotakis underlined the excellent level of Greece’s relations with the US and Israel, and the prospect of further strengthening Greek-Israeli relations, which was also discussed during his recent meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Nicosia on the sidelines of the Greece-Cyprus-Israel Tripartite Summit.
Mitsotakis also expressed his thanks for the help provided by Israel during the natural disasters that afflicted Greece, while exchanging views on international and regional issues, with an emphasis on the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
Mitsotakis also made special reference to the Asia-Middle East Corridor, within which Greece can act as a bridge with Europe, sources noted.
