As the civil and military aviation sectors enter a new era – marked by increasing global air traffic and the growing demand for fighter aircraft, the arrival of ever more connected systems, the growing automation of operations, and heightened cybersecurity requirements – flight safety remains the aviation industry’s top priority.

To successfully meet these challenges, Thales today inaugurates a new “Flight Safety Center” at its Bordeaux campus, an immersive space entirely dedicated to understanding, sharing and advancing air safety culture. More than just a demonstration centre, this new facility is intended to be a global centre of excellence where employees, customers, partners, suppliers, authorities and experts can learn about and receive training on air safety challenges. They will be able to share best practices and explore cutting-edge technologies that make aviation one of the safest modes of transportation in the world1.

Through a unique educational journey combining interactive experiences, technology demonstrations, and real-world operational feedback, this “Flight Safety Center” provides an understanding of how safety is built throughout the lifecycle of an aviation system – from design and development, to certification, operation and maintenance.

Located at the Bordeaux Campus, one of Thales’ leading centers of excellence for aeronautics, this “Flight Safety Center” marks the first step toward a broader ambition to roll out this concept across several strategic sites in order to support the skills’ development of its 21,000 employees in civil and military aviation activities worldwide.
