Migration and Asylum Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos on Friday said that “the data from the migrant flows show a small increase which is normal given that in the summer the transfer is easier” however ” if we exclude the part of the southeastern Aegean, around the island of Rhodes, the migrant flows to Greece from the other entrance points are controlled and normal for the season” in an interview with Real FM.
The flows are limited in Evros, probably the fence is working positively, there are passings, there will always be as the fence does not cover the whole borderline, he added.
The Migration minister said that “a very good job is being done by the authorities that are responsible for controlling and guarding the borders” adding that most of the migrants want to go to western Europe.
