The solution of the Cyprus issue must take place within the framework established by the UN Security Council resolutions, Greek Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis noted during a meeting with Maria Angela Holguin, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ Personal Envoy on Cyprus.
During their meeting, Gerapetritis expressed Greece’s support for the envoy’s efforts for the restart of talks. As quoted in a post on X, the FM said, “Greece supports the efforts of the UN’s Personal Envoy towards the restart of the dialogue between the parties and is ready to provide its good services in the process of resolving the Cyprus issue.”
Gerapetritis is in Washington to attend the NATO Summit as member of a delegation led by the Greek prime minister.
