Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Monday stressed the need for Turkey to reach an agreement with neighbouring countries regarding the under-construction nuclear power plant in Akuyu.
Dendias made the statement in a Twitter post on his personal account, on the 35th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.
“The Chernobyl disaster, the biggest nuclear accident in history, is a constant reminder of the dangers that lurk today as well,” Dendias said. “As I have pointed out, Turkey must negotiate with neighbouring countries for the nuclear power plant under construction in Akuyu,” he added.
