Greek National Defense Minister Nikos Dendias met at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday with new State Minister for Defense Affairs Mohamed Bin Mubarak Bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei.
During their meetings, the two ministers discussed further boosting the strategic defense relations between Greece and UAE, as foreseen also in the agreement of the two countries for collaboration in foreign policy and defense. The agreement had been signed in November 2020, with Dendias’ then counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to protecting peace and stability in the region, on the basis of international law, and discussed among other issues the developments in Gaza, the Red Sea, the Aspides Operation of the EU at the Red Sea, and opportunities for UAE participation in Greece’s defense innovation plan.
Dendias also met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, currently defense minister of UAE.
