Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday spoke on the phone with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders discussed the forthcoming European Council meeting (via teleconference) as well as the reports of the European Commission and the High Representative of the Union on Euro-Turkish relations, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and developments in Libya, as well as the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mitsotakis and Macron also had the opportunity to refer to the historical alliance between Greece and France, which has remained unshaken throughout the 200 years since the start of the 1821 independence struggle that led to the founding of the modern Greek state and are highlighted by the celebrations of March 25.
