“The United States is standing by Greece’s side and Greece is not alone”, said in an interview to Athens-Macedonian News Agency the new Consul General of USA in Thessaloniki Elizabeth Lee underlining Greece’s importance and of the ports of Alexandroupolis and Kavala for USA’s strategic interests.
In parallel, she underlined Thessaloniki’s promotion as a regional hub of science and technology as well as of the dynamic development of the USA’s presence in northern Greece which was reaffirmed by the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recent visit to the region.
She said that the US considers Greece a pillar of stability in the region but what she believes important is that the US is standing by Greece’s side and that Greece is not alone“.
