A total of 199 personnel from the fire brigade and the armed forces, as well as drivers from local authorities, will supplement the Greek Emergency Response Ambulance Service (EKAB) to make up for staff shortages, it was announced on Thursday.
Priority will be given to ambulance services in 61 regions in the country located in tourist, island and remote areas.
The additional personnel must have a driver’s license (category B) and will also receive additional training ahead of their new duties, it was noted.
