Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis made the following post on the internet for the 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus:
“Half a century since the national tragedy of Cyprus. We honor those who were lost. And we claim a European state, united, based on UN resolutions. No foreign occupation army.”
Mitsotakis will deliver a speech at a remembrance event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the coup and the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, on Saturday. The event, organized by President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, will be held at the Presidential Mansion in Nicosia at 20:30.
