Migration and Asylum Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos welcomed the findings for Greece in the annual European Commission’s 2024 Rule of Law Report released Wednesday.
The chapter on Greece cited improvements in Commission recommendations since the previous report in justice, noting among them the lower court reform, while it also outlined fewer recommendations for further progress than it did for other EU countries.
Panagiotopoulos noted, “I was happy to be informed of the results of the annual Commission report on the rule of law, which among other things underlines the progress achieved in the collaboration of the Migration & Asylum Ministry with civil society organizations, a fact that improves the operability of the migration issue, establishing a structured dialog that can only bring positive developments, especially for vulnerable groups.”
Panagiotopoulos added that the ministry will continue to boost its collaboration and dialog with institutional partners and civil society, “for the continuing improvement of the critical issue of migration and the rule of law.”
