By decision of the Minister of Migration and Asylum Makis Voridis, three of the thirty-three accommodation facilities operating throughout Greece will be closed.
By the end of April, the Elefsina accomodation facility is expected to close, which currently hosts 84 people, most of them Ukrainian nationals, who will be placed in other active structures.
With the closure of this facility, the building which had been granted to the Ministry of Migration and Asylum will be available for use by the Hellenic Shipyards, to which it belongs.
The closure of the facilities in Volos and West Lesvos is expected to follow in a short period of time.
Αccording to a Ministry statement, the total financial benefit from the closure of the three facilities exceeds 3.5 million euros.
