A Greek-Egyptian military agreement and a joint action plan among Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt were signed on February 4 at the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) in Athens.
The “Program for Military Cooperation between Greece and Egypt” for 2025 and the “Joint Action Plan of Greece, Cyprus, Egypt” were signed in the framework of the Hellenic Armed Forces’ international cooperations with allies and friendly countries. They are a follow-up of those signed in 2024 and include the following:
– Operational training
– Joint training of special forces – Special operations forces, air missions, and electronic warfare
– Cooperation related to army airforce, military medicine, and military history
– Training on armament simulators, and
– Participation in training by Greece’s Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Center ( MPSOTC).
The level of cooperation and the improvement of operational capacities between Armed Forces of the three countries are the basic goals of the agreements above. The actions also improve efforts to deal with joint challenges, for the purpose of promoting security and stability in the East Mediterranean region, the HNDGS said.
