Greece always ensures that it “provides the necessary solidarity and security to Armenia” as a country with which it has eons-long historical ties, Foreign Affairs Minister GeorgeGerapetritis said on Wednesday, after the conclusion of his official visit to Yerevan.
“Particularly today, at a time when territorial integrity is under significant pressure because of events in the South Caucasus,” he added.
For the Greek government, Gerapetritis said, “it is a matter of principle to provide solidarity to anyone defending themselves, to anyone who is being affected by aggression of any form.”
The Greek minister added that “Greece will provide its services at present, and will do so because the reliable foreign policy it has developed allows us to speak with authority and credibility with all international actors, as well as with involved parties.” His visit to Saudi Arabia on Thursday and other countries, as well as his meeting in Athens with the Palestinian counterpart on Friday, is in this context, he noted.
