Το πρώτο LCS μπήκε στο Ναύσταθμο Σούδας

Ομολογούμε πως δύσκολα κρατηθήκαμε να μην βάλουμε κάποιον προβοκατόρικο τίτλο! Αλλά μιας και το LCS 11, του Αμερικανικού Ναυτικού “έπιασε” τελικά σε ελληνικό λιμάνι, να μην γραφτεί;

Πέρα από την όποια “πλάκα”, θεωρούμε πως το LCS 11 δοκιμάζει τις υποδομές στη Σούδα, καθώς οι επισκέψεις των πλοίων της κλάσης μάλλον θα πυκνώσουν από εδώ και πέρα.

Τα LCS Freedom θα επιχειρούν κυρίως σε Ατλαντικό Ωκεανό, Μεσόγειο και Περσικό Κόλπο, και υπάρχουν σκέψεις η Σούδα να γίνει προωθημένη βάση υποστήριξής τους, όπως είναι η Ρότα για τα Arleigh Burke. Η ρωσική εισβολή στην Ουκρανία, άλλαξε δραστικά τους αμερικανικούς σχεδιασμούς, και το Κονγκρέσο δεν φαίνεται να δέχεται την απόσυρση των LCS Freedom.

Τυχόν σκέψεις για παραχώρηση μεταχειρισμένων πλοίων στο ΠΝ πλέον πρέπει να τις ξεχάσουμε, όπως έχουμε ήδη ξαναγράψει, μετά τις γεωπολιτικές ανατροπές. Η επισκευή του κιβωτίου της RENK προχωρεί και σε άλλα σκάφη, ενώ μάλλον θα γίνει και κάποιο upgunned (με τοποθέτηση πυραύλων NSM, και άλλων όπλων στο μέλλον).
