Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vassilis Kikilias convened on Thursday a high-level meeting focused on coordinating all relevant agencies to ensure the state apparatus is prepared for potential flooding in Attica.
Kikilias stressed the urgency of completing necessary infrastructure projects and interventions to prevent flooding. Local mayors highlighted challenges and issues requiring immediate solutions, especially in areas recently affected by wildfires.
Kikilias also announced plans to organize similar meetings with officials nationwide to ensure readiness and vigilance against extreme weather events in the upcoming fall and winter seasons.
