Christodoulides will then brief the Cyprus national council.
New informal five-party meeting on Cyprus issue at the end of July
A new informal five-party meeting on the Cyprus issue will take place at the end of July in Geneva, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.
He also noted that he will soon appoint a special envoy for the Cyprus issue and stressed that the two sides agreed on initiatives that will help build trust between the two sides.
During the meeting, it was decided to open four crossing points and to set up a technical committee on youth, an initiative on the environment and the climate crisis, with solar energy in the buffer zone, as well as restoration of cemeteries. As Guterres pointed out, since the Crans-Montana, Switzerland, talks, there has been no substantial progress, but today, there was significant advancement.
