Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, launched direct flights between Athens and Sharjah, the cultural capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Direct flights between the two cities operate every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Air Arabia’s inaugural flight linking Athens International Airport (AIA) to Sharjah International Airport took place on Friday. A ceremony to celebrate the event took place at AIA and was attended by Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali, Greek Ambassador toUAE Antonis Alexandridis and UAE Ambassador to Greece Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri. A gala dinner was also attended by Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, who also delivered an address.
Air Arabia operates a modern fleet of 74 Airbus A320s and A321 aircraft.
