The situation in Ukraine, the Middle East and the Red Sea as well as the further strengthening of Greek-UK relations in the field of defense dominated Defence Minister Nikos Dendias’ meeting with British Minister of State for the Armed Forces James Heappey at the Ambassador’s residence in London on Monday.
“We also discussed the operation”Prosperity Guardian” while I briefed Mr Heappey on the Greek participation in EU’s operation “Aspides” in the Red Sea. I noted that Greece, the country with the largest merchant fleet in the world, will defend the freedom of navigation and the seamen’s security in cooperation with its allies and partners. Additionally, I briefed him on the creation of the Greek innovation ecosystem in the Armed Forces inviting the UK to take part in it” Dendias posted on X.
