The Coast Guard has located and arrested thousands of undocumented migrants in July 2024 throughout the country, according to an announcement by the Coast Guard Command on Thursday.
This said that coast guard services had handled 94 incidents of illegal entry into the country in July and arrested 2,007 foreign nationals and 60 traffickers. The coast guard officers also located and seized 31 trafficking vessels, as well as three vehicles used by the smugglers. In other cases, 21 undocumented migrants were intercepted by while attempting to flee with the assistance of traffickers and two vehicles were confiscated.
